PROGRAMS
EJF's focus and main program is the direct provision of litigation
services. EJF’s litigation activities have covered many subjects,
including consumer protection, fair housing, welfare reform, public
benefits, immigrant rights, disability rights, domestic violence,
judicial conduct, civil and constitutional rights, public accommodations,
and environmental justice.
In its provision of legal services, EJF's goal is to effectively assist
as many individuals as possible. Along these lines, EJF identifies
systematic and widespread practices that negatively impact low-income
individuals that might be suitable for class-action or impact litigation.
Thus, EJF's programs include networking with other legal services groups
and various advocacy groups around the state.
In addition, EJF's programs include education of its constituency
regarding their legal rights and potential solutions to their legal
problems. EJF tries to refer each individual it cannot represent or, at a
minimum, provide information outlining legal rights and remedies. |
